Alpha-TMS is modular, so you only pay for the functionality you really need. With our "Docking" module, you can easily and conveniently manage when carriers come to load and unload and at which dock.
Depending on the amount of inbound and outbound transport and the number of docks available, loading and unloading can get pretty busy. Carriers may come to load or unload at the same time, or arrive at unexpected times. Then there may be no docks available or the warehouse may not be ready to receive or load the goods. This can lead to waiting times, and therefore extra costs, frustration and stress.
For each loading/unloading location, you create a calendar with the number of loading docks (loading, unloading or both) and the opening hours. Transport orders from the "Order" module, are automatically linked to a docking order. These are available on the calendar for scheduling by you as shipper or, if desired, by your carriers. Statuses, confirmations and open actions are quickly visible. Carriers can also delegate to charters or subcontractors.
The smart calendar keeps track of available slots. Loading and unloading times are automatically calculated according to volume and settings based on your practical experience. It is possible to combine docking orders, and to create fixed block bookings for carriers who come to load and unload periodically.
Transport that you do not book yourself (e.g. from your suppliers) can also be scheduled. To do this, you send a unique link to your suppliers. So you can schedule all your incoming and outgoing transports, even if they do not run via alpha-TMS. The docking module can therefore also be used stand-alone, without other alpha-TMS modules.
